US to Announce Major Expansion of Strategic Partnership with Morocco

The United States intends to strengthen its relations with Morocco. The U.S. Ambassador to Morocco has announced that a series of announcements are planned for next week to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries.
U.S. Ambassador David Fischer was speaking at a press briefing held the day after the U.S. decision to recognize Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara. Nearly 200 years since the first U.S. embassy was established in Morocco. "Next week, we plan to make a series of announcements that will consolidate the USA-Morocco strategic partnership in the areas of economic development and trade, while strengthening Morocco’s role as a regional economic leader," reports the MAP.
While highlighting the good health of relations between the two countries, the ambassador expressed his conviction that Morocco will be part of the new world order after the exit from the current crisis related to the Covid-19 pandemic. As part of the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries, the ambassador indicated that the United States will open a consulate in Dakhla to support and encourage investment and development projects that will bring "tangible benefits".
During the press conference, David Fischer praised the "bold" leadership of Mohammed VI and the free trade agreements signed with countries in Europe, the Middle East and the African continent, the same source specifies.
