American Tourist Assaulted in Marrakech Amid Coronavirus Fears
An American national, stranded in Morocco following the closure of borders, was violently assaulted by several individuals in Marrakech.
Humiliated, the young man, who is staying in a riad, said he was assaulted by a pharmacist and his brother as he was returning from a supermarket in the city. He is suspected of being a high-risk person likely to be a carrier of the deadly virus.
In a video circulated on social media, the American national called for more restraint and restraint during this confinement period.
For his part, the judicial police officer in charge of the case has opened an investigation into the incident, under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office. In this context, he summoned the owner of the riad and the two people implicated.
