American Investor Faces Appeal in Marrakech Child Abuse and Blackmail Case

This case had made headlines. This American investor was filming his victims in pornographic poses, in his guest house (in the Marrakech area), before blackmailing them to get them to accept new relationships with him. It was a text message sent to one of his victims, the wife of one of his close friends, that lost him.

Indeed, the husband, having asked for explanations on this subject, and having been told that it was only a misdirected recipient, did not believe it for a moment and, pushing the investigation further, did not fail to find a CD containing more than 40 pornographic films in which the recurring actor is the American, in the company of minors and married women.

It was not the husband who caused the arrest of the American investor, but... himself, since he filed a complaint for theft against his close friend and two other people shortly afterwards. He accuses them of having stolen several effects from his guest house. It was only during this investigation for theft that the husband handed the CD in question over to the Gendarmerie.

As if surprised to learn about it, the American fled the gendarmerie services for several weeks before surrendering himself on March 8th. He did not deny the facts he was accused of, however, specifying that his victims, including minors, were consenting.

Sentenced to 4 years in prison at first instance, his appeal trial begins on Thursday.
