Moroccan Man Arrested for Online Blackmail Scheme Targeting Women on Facebook

Online blackmail has become his specialty. The Royal Gendarmerie of Afourar has just arrested a young man who blackmails Moroccan women on Facebook. He poses as a woman from the Middle East and takes advantage of these young girls’ dream of marrying wealthy Gulf Arabs to ask them for private photos.
His arrest stems from a complaint filed by a girl from Meknes. According to her, the young man had gained her trust by posing as a Khaliji woman and after she had sent him "private" photos, the latter revealed his true identity and would have demanded sums of money in exchange for his promise not to publish her photos on social networks.
The Gendarmerie is said to have traveled to Afourar, in the Azilal region, and to have started a search of his home. The defendant is said to have taken advantage of this to flee. But he was finally arrested after a brief manhunt.
The defendant is said to have already been arrested and convicted for similar acts and he had just been released from prison. But he immediately resumed blackmailing girls by promising them the moon.
