American Auto Supplier CVG to Open Strategic Electric Vehicle Factory in Morocco

The American automotive supplier Commercial Vehicle Group (CVG) has chosen Morocco for its first headquarters in Africa. It will open a factory there that will act as a hub with its other manufacturing sites for electrical systems.
CVG is embarking on the construction of a factory in Tangier. In a press release, it indicates that this future site, which it considers strategic, will make it possible to serve the European market for electric utility vehicles, a rapidly growing sector.
Production is expected to start in the third quarter of the current year. The same source specifies that the American automotive supplier should deploy its exclusive manufacturing processes for electrical systems on the Tangier site, which will act as a hub with the group’s other electrical systems manufacturing sites.
According to Harold Bevis, CEO of CVG, setting up at the gates of Europe will allow the group to align its services with the demands of its clients in the rapidly growing electrification market. "We intend to have a large global footprint in North America, Europe and North Africa,"
