American ’Arabs Got Talent’ Star Jennifer Grout Reveals Moroccan Inspiration Behind Islam Conversion

American singer Jennifer Grout, who became famous through her appearance on the "Arabs got talent" show, reflects on her conversion to Islam.
"The generosity and hospitality of the Moroccans are at the origin of my conversion to Islam," said American singer Jennifer Grout in an interview with Al Jazeera.
In 2012, she had traveled to Morocco. Reminiscing about her stay, she said there is something unique about Morocco that affected her and led her to convert to Islam. According to her, hearing the mosques simultaneously make the calls to prayer is a religious practice that has touched her. Moreover, all these factors prompted her to conduct an in-depth study on Islam.
Married to a Moroccan, Jennifer Grout is the mother of a daughter named Qamar (moon in Arabic). Explaining the choice of this name, she said she had a connection with the moon during her pregnancy.
Musically, the singer embraces the diversity and music of Morocco. Grout sings in Andalusian, Amazigh and Arabic languages.
