Almeria Port Sees 402% Surge in Passenger Traffic, Nador Route Reopens

Nearly 77,000 passengers have transited through the port of Almería from Nador, Melilla and Algerian ports, between January and May, an increase of 402% compared to the same period in 2021.
In detail, 20,000 passengers have passed through Almería from Nador, a port with which maritime passenger traffic has resumed in April. During the first five months of the year, nearly 2,200 tourists disembarked in Almería, while the port did not welcome any tourists in 2021 due to the health crisis, reports Europa Press.
The largest volume corresponds to solid bulk, with more than 890,000 tons, an increase of 1.5% compared to a year earlier. Goods (transported in containers, ro-ro and other packaging) exceeded 646,000 tons, an increase of 10.8% compared to the previous year.
As for fishery products, just over 1,000 tons were unloaded at the fish market of the fishing port of Almería, which represents an increase of 6.4%.
