Algerian Soccer Star Faces Backlash Over Marrakech Vacation Photos

Algerian international Saïd Benrahma, striker for Olympique Lyonnais, was the target of a virulent attack on social media after posting photos of his stay in Marrakech on his Instagram account.
Benrahma, who was enjoying a moment of relaxation in the Moroccan city, shared photos on his Instagram account. However, this choice sparked the outrage of some Algerian internet users who accused him of "betraying" his country by favoring a foreign tourist destination rather than promoting Algeria.
Faced with this outpouring of hatred, the player was forced to deactivate the comments on his Instagram account. Insults and reproaches were flying, with some internet users even going so far as to threaten the player and his family.
