Algerian Police Hunt 7 Moroccans in Illegal Immigration Network Bust

Sunday 20 October 2019, by Sylvanus

After the arrest of four Algerians this week, Oran is on the trail of seven Moroccans. They are said to have set up an organization to organize illegal immigration trips, and operated through Facebook.

According to the Algerian press, it is a specialized social media team, attached to the Judicial Police Brigade of Aïn El Turk (Oran), which discovered an organization that offered illegal immigration trips between Oran and Spain. Algerians and Moroccans were behind it.

Determined to dismantle this network, the Algerian police managed to arrest one of their compatriots through a Facebook page they were following.

This member provided them with information during his interrogation, which led to the arrest of other accomplices on board a vehicle containing about fifteen jerrycans of gasoline, on the outskirts of an Oran beach.

The continuation of the investigations made it possible to identify other accomplices: seven Moroccans, currently on the run. Similarly, a speedboat-type boat, equipped with a 50-horsepower engine, which served as a shuttle between Algeria and Spain, was seized.

For now, the Algerian police are actively searching for the seven Moroccans who would be involved in the activities of this organization.
