Algerian Duo Arrested at Casablanca Airport for Smuggling Cannabis Capsules

The Border Police of Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca have just arrested two Algerian nationals, for their alleged involvement in a cannabis resin trafficking case.
A quantity of 1.1 kilograms of cannabis resin, packaged in 176 capsules, was extracted from the stomachs of the two Algerians at the Ibn Rochd University Hospital Center in Casablanca.
The two suspects, aged 30 and 36, were arrested on Saturday, October 12, as they were about to board a flight to the airport of the Algerian capital, according to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
The suspects were placed in custody for the investigation opened under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, in order to determine the circumstances of this case, which falls within the framework of the fight against drug and narcotic trafficking.
