Abdellah Imassi, a Moroccan journalist working for the American news channel "Al Hurra", was arrested and then expelled from Algeria after several hours of interrogation on Wednesday, May 15 in the early evening.
Abdellah Imassi’s arrest occurred as soon as he arrived at Algiers Houari Boumediene International Airport, several media report. Moroccan journalist based in the United States, this colleague who works for the American Arabic news channel "Al Hurra", was expelled to Washington, where he resides, after more than 6 hours of interrogation.
Abdellah Imassi was preparing a report on the Algerian Hirak. Even if for the moment, the "Al Hurra" channel has chosen to remain silent about the treatment reserved for the Moroccan journalist, the case remains no less worrying.
Abdellah’s beginnings date back to 2007, with the Moroccan channel 2M until 2009, the year the journalist and reporter then joined a Moroccan satellite channel where he holds the position of chief editor of news bulletins, before joining the MBN Digital group (Michelangelo Broadcasting Network) which operates the "Al Hurra" and "Radio Sawa" channels in particular.
