Algerian Army Seizes Over 700 kg of Cannabis from Morocco, Arrests 17 Traffickers

The Algerian Ministry of Defense reports that huge quantities of drugs from Morocco were seized towards the end of November.
Combined detachments of the People’s National Army arrested, in coordination with the various security services, 17 drug traffickers and seized, in separate operations, huge quantities of processed cannabis amounting to 709 kilograms, which had been introduced through the borders with Morocco, indicates the MDN in a press release.
Border Guards seized 513.25 kilograms of processed cannabis in Naâma, while an ANP Detachment arrested, in coordination with the National Security services in Béchar, 2 drug traffickers and seized another quantity of the same substance amounting to 156 kilograms, as well as 469,866 psychotropic tablets, details the same source.
The services of the National Gendarmerie and the Border Guards apprehended 15 drug traffickers and seized 39.75 kilograms of processed cannabis and 47,395 psychotropic tablets, during separate operations carried out in Algiers, Batna, Tlemcen, Bordj Bou-Arreridj, Tébessa, Sétif, Relizane, Oum El Bouaghi and El-Tarf, it is specified.
