Algeria Accused of Digital Campaign to Claim Moroccan Culinary Heritage
For several years now, Algeria has launched an online brigade in an attempt to appropriate many aspects of Moroccan culture, including certain culinary recipes.
Moroccan cuisine is considered one of the best in the world, and no one can deny that. Undoubtedly jealous of this distinction, Algeria has already launched a brigade several years ago to try to gradually erase this distinction and appropriate, when it can, this distinction, to the detriment of Morocco.
Thus, many Moroccan recipes have been modified on Wikipedia, by integrating a presumed Maghreb, and therefore somehow Algerian, origin to many Moroccan recipes. A recent example is that of Rfissa, which some in Morocco call trid.
