Algeciras Port Prepares for Potential Resumption of Morocco-Spain Summer Transit Operation

Pending the official announcement by Morocco and Spain of the organization of Operation Marhaba 2021, the Port Authority of the Bay of Algeciras (APBA) is already preparing for its implementation under good conditions.
Spain and Morocco would have already agreed on the organization of Operation Marhaba this summer. Even if for the moment, no authorized voice has yet confirmed this information, the Port Authority of the Bay of Algeciras (APBA) is already preparing for its realization.
This year, Operation Marhaba will have a peculiarity due to the health restrictive measures decreed by Morocco, including the extended state of emergency until April 10, and the closure of borders for more than a year, to limit the spread of Covid-19. According to the APBA, the pre-boarding area of Llano Amarillo will be ready to receive the Moroccans residing abroad in Europe who decide to join Morocco to spend the summer vacation.
Since March, when the kingdom closed its borders, it has only authorized repatriations of Spaniards and Spanish residents to Spain by sea, from the port of Tanger Med to that of Algeciras.
