Albania’s Euro 2024 Strategy: Coach Sylvinho Looks to Morocco’s World Cup Success for Inspiration

With their run at the last FIFA World Cup in Qatar, Morocco has become a reference for many countries. In an interview, a coach wants to take inspiration from the Atlas Lions.
The coach of the Albanian national team, Sylvio Mendes Campo Júnior, better known as Sylvinho, shared his vision and ambitions for Euro 2024. After leading Albania to its second qualification for the Euro, he is preparing to face a formidable Group B, made up of Italy, Spain and Croatia. Despite the imposing stature of these opponents, the Brazilian coach is determined to make Albania a surprising force in the tournament. And what better than to take Morocco as a reference?
"We don’t necessarily study teams like France, Spain, Germany, England or Portugal, because they will always be candidates for the title. We turn to teams that we can hope to imitate and so it is quite logical that Morocco is a reference for us. We hope that this will continue to be the case, because they really did well. Mamma Mia!" he said on the FIFA website, expressing his admiration for the Moroccan team.
To recall, Morocco reached the semi-finals of the last World Cup in Qatar after eliminating teams like Spain and Portugal and beating Belgium.
