Ajax Terminates Contract of Abdelhak Nouri Following Coma Recovery

Ajax Amsterdam terminated, on Monday, March 30, the contract of Abdelhak Nouri. A contract termination that comes a few days after his release from a coma.
Things seem to be moving faster for the Moroccan-Dutch player, still bedridden. Barely has he woken up after 2 years and 9 months in a coma that his club is making decisions about his football future.
According to De Telegraaf, Ajax Amsterdam has terminated the contract binding the 22-year-old player. The club made this decision due to a clause that could automatically extend Abdelhak Nouri’s contract as of July 1.
Before announcing this contract termination, the club tried an amicable settlement in the dispute opposing it to the player’s family. Ajax offered 5 million euros as compensation. In 2017, Nouri had suffered a cardiovascular accident during a match between Ajax Amsterdam and Werder Bremen.
