Ajax Amsterdam Reaches Settlement with Family of Comatose Player Abdelhak Nouri

Four years after the termination of his contract, the former Moroccan midfielder Abdelhak Nouri, still in a coma, will finally receive compensation. His club Ajax Amsterdam has reached an agreement with his family.
This may be the epilogue of a long-standing dispute that has been going on since 2018, the Dutch press reports, recalling that since that year, the two parties have been engaged in a legal battle.
In 2017, during a pre-season match between Ajax and Werder Bremen in Austria, Nouri suffered brain damage after a cardiac arrest. The club eventually decided to terminate his contract.
The young man’s family had claimed 15 million euros in compensation from the club. Ajax had, for its part, offered much less, i.e. 5 million euros. On Sunday, it was learned that the two parties had defined the amount of compensation to pay for the lifelong care of the player.
For now, no information has been released on the amount of this agreement.
