Ajax Star Ziyech Snubs Sevilla Transfer, Prefers to Stay Put

After a dazzling season at Ajax Amsterdam, where he won a national title and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League, Hakim Ziyech is among the most coveted players on the transfer market this summer. But already, at the Spanish club Sevilla FC, which would be interested in the services of the Atlas Lions striker, Ziyech has said he prefers to stay at Ajax rather than go to that team.
Ziyech’s remarks border on total contempt for the Spanish club Sevilla FC. The Moroccan international, who is on his way out, is being courted by several clubs, including the Spanish one mentioned. Indeed, a few days earlier, he had displayed his new ambitions; his new project had been unveiled, under the leadership of Julen Lopetegui. The club’s first signing was therefore Luke de Jong. In addition, the club’s leaders have not hidden their desire to acquire the services of the Moroccan player.
"Ziyech’s imminent departure from the Dutch club is a fact, the Director having promised not to put any obstacles to the selection of the Moroccan player by another team," reports the Spanish media Soyfutbol, which sees a possible arrival of Ziyech in Seville, a team that would have even already taken steps in this direction.
However, contrary to expectations, the Moroccan international told the media Algemeen Dagblad that he would prefer to stay at Ajax rather than go to a team like Seville, reports Soyfutbol, who believes he knows Ziyech’s plan. The player, according to the media, wants to go to one of the most prestigious clubs in the five major European leagues. "With all due respect, this is not a club I would leave Ajax for, but for me it is essential to progress in the sport. If it is not a club similar to Ajax, I do not see the reason to leave," Ziyech said in response to Sevilla FC’s advances.
