It’s official! Hakim Ziyech will remain at Ajax until 2022. With a contract that was supposed to expire in 2021, the Moroccan midfielder is continuing his adventure on the Ajacides’ bench for an additional year.
By renewing the contract of the former FC Twente player, the Dutch leaders are convinced that they can once again benefit from his good performances, as was the case last season. This news will certainly delight the supporters of the Dutch champions.
For now, the details of the new contract have not been leaked, but it includes a salary increase that would make the Atlas Lion the highest paid player in the Eredivisie with an estimated annual income of 3 million euros net.
Since his arrival in Amsterdam in 2016, Ziyech has played 133 official matches and scored 42 goals for Ajax. He is also the league’s top passer, five times in a row.
