Ajax Star Abdelhak Nouri Conscious Years After Collapse, Family Reveals

The Dutch-Moroccan footballer, Abdelhak Nouri, celebrated his birthday on Tuesday, April 2. A special moment for him and his family, who continue to fight for him.
"He is not in a coma, he is conscious," said Abderrahim Nouri, his brother, during the KNVB Futsal Cup. "He is not like before, but we are happy that he is with us."
In July 2017, during a training match with Ajax Amsterdam in Austria, Nouri collapsed on the field. Serious brain lesions were diagnosed, a consequence of medical errors.
The young Moroccan’s family is now working to raise awareness and prevent such accidents in the world of sport. "It is important that people know how to react in an emergency situation," said Abderrahim Nouri.
On this special day, Ajax paid tribute to its former player: "Dear Abdelhak, 27 years old. Today, we make a heart for you."
