AirBaltic Expands to Africa: New Riga-Marrakech Route Launching in October

The Latvian airline airBaltic has announced the expansion of its network to Morocco starting next winter. From the end of October, it will launch new flights from Riga to Marrakech.
This is the company’s first route to Africa, the press release states, specifying that it will operate two flights per week. The flights will be operated by Airbus A220-300 aircraft and should last 5 hours and 30 minutes, it is noted.
The one-way ticket is offered at 149 euros, the same source adds, noting that "Marrakech is the most popular city for international travelers in Morocco. It is an excellent gateway to the Atlas Mountains, the Sahara deserts and offers many places of interest."
"We are delighted to announce our very first regular connection to Africa. As the first Baltic airline, we continue to develop our network, adding more interesting leisure destinations also for the winter season," said Martin Gauss, CEO of the airline.
