Air Arabia Pilots Face 50% Pay Cut Amid Aviation Industry Crisis

Air Arabia is imposing a 50% pay cut on its pilots. This reduction concerns the next three months (until July), and as expected, it is angering the pilots.
Mired in the health crisis with disastrous consequences, Air Arabia Maroc has committed to reducing the effects of this crisis on its activities by reducing the salaries of its pilots.
In an internal document signed by Dalale Qadi El Idrissi, the company’s Human Resources Manager, the information was brought to the attention of pilots, captains, pilot officers and co-pilots currently in Morocco. They are also asked to contact the CNSS to claim the partial unemployment allowance (2,000 dirhams).
As for employees abroad, similar treatment is reserved for them. Air Arabia offers a captain 10,000 dirhams per month, compared to 7,000 for pilot officers and 5,000 for co-pilots. They too are asked to contact the CNSS for the partial unemployment allowance.
It should be noted that in the first quarter of 2020, the company achieved a net profit of nearly 18 million euros.
