Agadir Mayor Denies Rumored Twinning Agreement with Israeli City

The mayor of Agadir, Aziz Akhannouch, denied the information regarding an alleged twinning agreement between his municipality and the Israeli city of Nesher.
The rumor would have been spread by some opposition elected officials. According to these local officials, the municipality of Agadir would have signed a twinning agreement with the Israeli city of Nesher.
Taking advantage of an extraordinary session of the municipal council, held on Friday and devoted to the examination and approval of the 2022-2027 municipal action plan, Aziz Akhannouch made a clarification, denying any twinning.
The mayor of Agadir spoke out against these unfounded rumors. "The agreement only exists in your imagination. No agreement has been signed or planned," he said.
These are pure lies, added the president of the municipal council of Agadir. He also called on the opposition to investigate the veracity and accuracy of the information they are promoting before accusing the council, before concluding: "Do not lie to the people."
