After Her Tears, Nora Fatehi Receives a Threatening Letter from an Indian Prison

Nora Fatehi says she lost contracts and lived in fear after being linked to fraudster Sukesh Chandrasekhar. A few days after sharing her account, a letter attributed to the prisoner accuses her of lying and threatens to make alleged evidence public.

Nora Fatehi thought she was revisiting one of the most painful periods of her career. Her testimony ultimately triggered a new offensive from Sukesh Chandrasekhar, the imprisoned man at the center of a vast extortion and money-laundering case in India.

In an episode of the Dream with Dr Sheen podcast published on August 24, the Moroccan-Canadian actress recounts having been deeply traumatized by the affair. She says she found herself alone in the face of accusations and comments suggesting that she personally knew Sukesh, was in a relationship with him, or accepted his money.

The controversy allegedly also had serious professional consequences. Nora Fatehi says she lost brands, contracts and opportunities obtained after several years of work. She even explains that she still feels afraid when her agency offers her the chance to attend an event, fearing that she may once again be associated with people involved in a legal case.

The actress acknowledges having taken part in an event organized by Sukesh Chandrasekhar’s circle and having met members of his family. She also indicates that gifts had been offered to her, but says she had been told that such practices were normal in that context.

Nora Fatehi had been questioned several times by Indian investigators. She was not prosecuted as an accused person in the extortion case: her statement was recorded as that of a witness. She has always denied knowing the allegedly criminal origin of the money or having had a personal relationship with Sukesh.

“Don’t Provoke Me”

A few days after the podcast was released, a handwritten letter attributed to Sukesh Chandrasekhar began circulating on social media. Its authenticity has not been independently confirmed, but its author presents himself as the prisoner and responds directly to Nora Fatehi’s statements.

According to the document reported by Siasat Daily, the signatory accuses the actress of playing the victim and describes her tears as a staged act intended to win the public’s sympathy.

The letter then repeats several claims already made by Sukesh in 2023. He claims to have paid Nora Fatehi a substantial sum to finance the purchase of a house in Casablanca. He also claims to have exchanged messages with her about Birkin bags, BMWs and a Range Rover.

The prisoner further maintains that Nora Fatehi knew his identity and influence. He accuses her of being jealous of his relationship with Jacqueline Fernandez, of calling him up to ten times a day and of asking him to leave the latter.

The most threatening part appears at the end of the message. Its author asks Nora Fatehi not to “provoke” him and claims he can disclose the “remaining evidence.” He alleges that the actress’s communications efforts would then no longer be able to protect her reputation.

Despite the letter’s aggressive tone, the text ends with the word “Love,” followed by a signature attributed to Sukesh Chandrasekhar.
