Afriquia Introduces Mobile Payments Across Fuel Stations and Retail Outlets

To meet an increasingly present need in the national market, Afriquia, the national operator specialized in the distribution of fuels and liquefied petroleum gas, butane and propane, wants to move to mobile payment in its service stations.
Afriquia SMDC, Afriquia Gaz, AutoGo, Oasis Café, Mini Brahim and all Gas distributors (Allo Gaz and grocery stores) will now be able to accept this mobile payment method for services. For the group, this new benchmark payment method allows users to pay for their purchases safely and simply from a mobile phone.
This solution is being adopted by more and more users and it has many advantages that are perfectly in line with the new hygiene standards in force.
Mobile payment in these stores is simplified. To benefit from it, the customer must have an M-Wallet (electronic wallet) with a banking operator or a mobile payment institution such as Attijari Pay or Jibi (Wafacash). He will also have to indicate the payment method to the staff and finalize the transaction by bringing his smartphone closer to the electronic payment terminal.
According to the CEO of Afriquia SMDC, Said El Baghdadi, Afriquia will be the first Moroccan oil company to implement mobile payment at service stations, "and we are proud of it," he added, delighted with this progress. Continuing the explanations, Tawfiq Hamoumi, deputy general manager of Afriquia Gaz, supports that the group has made a point of honor to offer its customers products and services in line with the evolving expectations of the market, or even to anticipate them. "That’s why we’re also thrilled to be the pioneers in our field of activity," he said.
