African Soccer Coach Slams French Doctors’ ’Racist’ COVID Vaccine Test Proposal

The racist remarks made on LCI continue to provoke reactions. The former coach of the Atlas Lions says he is ashamed to have the same skin color as the racist French doctors, Jean-Paul Mira and Camille Locht.
"I feel a sense of shame to have a single thing in common with this kind of people: having the same skin color as these small-minded people," writes Hervé Renard on his Instagram account. The former coach of the Moroccan national team says he supports Africa and opposes any vaccination testing on the continent.
"If I can be provocative, shouldn’t we do this study in Africa where there are no masks, no treatment, no resuscitation? A bit like it’s done for some studies on AIDS or among prostitutes where we try things because we know they are highly exposed and they don’t protect themselves," suggested Prof. Jean-Paul Mira, head of the intensive care unit at Cochin Hospital in Paris, on the LCI set on April 1.
"You’re right. We’re thinking in parallel about a study in Africa to do the same type of approach with BCG. There is a call for tenders that has been issued. We will seriously consider this. This does not prevent us from thinking in parallel about a study in Europe and Australia," his colleague, Prof. Camille Locht, research director at the National Institute of Health and Medical Research (INSERM), had replied.
