The world’s most punctual airlines (Royal Air Maroc is not among them)

For the second consecutive year, it is Mexico that gives the lesson. Aeromexico has been crowned the world’s most punctual airline with an impressive 90.02% on-time flight rate. This clockwork regularity allows it to outperform Saudia (86.53%) and the Scandinavian SAS (86.09%).

The report, which analyzes millions of flights, sets stringent criteria: an aircraft is considered "on time" if it arrives at the gate less than 15 minutes after the scheduled time. In this game, other giants like Qatar Airways, Delta or LATAM are also doing well and make it into the Top 10.

However, there is no trace of the Moroccan national airline in this top table. Royal Air Maroc, which nevertheless aims to move upmarket to support the Kingdom’s tourism ambitions, is not among the ten most regular carriers on the planet this year.

Santiago de Chile, champion of airports

On the infrastructure side, the observation is similar. The title of the world’s most punctual major airport goes to Santiago de Chile (managed by Vinci Airports), with over 87% of on-time departures. It outperforms several international hubs that manage to handle complex flows without delaying passengers.

Here again, Moroccan airports, and in particular the Casablanca Mohammed V hub, are missing from the category of the most efficient major airports. The ranking shows the rise of Latin American and Gulf infrastructure.

These results remind us that punctuality remains the nerve of the global air war. To hope to join this "90% club" in the next editions, the Moroccan air sector will have to meet the challenge of operational regularity in the face of an increasingly sharp international competition.
