Milagros Tolón, Spanish Minister of Education, Culture and Sports, assured on Friday that there was "nothing official" regarding a final organized in Morocco. According to her, these are currently only press reports.

The Spanish official nevertheless clearly displayed her government’s objective. "I can assure you that this government will work so that the final is in Spain," she declared, according to Spanish media.

Morocco pushes with Hassan II stadium

This statement comes as Morocco appears increasingly often in scenarios surrounding the final. The future Hassan II stadium, currently under construction, is presented as one of the kingdom’s major assets, with an announced capacity of approximately 115,000 seats.

Against it, Spain highlights two prestigious venues: the Santiago Bernabéu in Madrid and the Camp Nou in Barcelona. Madrid is also counting on its institutional mobilization to influence the final decision.

A meeting with FIFA is scheduled for September as part of the 2030 World Cup preparation. On the Spanish side, an inter-ministerial commission has been established, with eight working groups, more than 150 people, twelve ministries and the Spanish Football Federation.

The 2030 World Cup will be organized by Morocco, Spain and Portugal, with three symbolic matches also planned in Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay. The competition is scheduled to run from June 13 to July 21.
