Young Dutch Brothers Found Neglected in Moroccan Town, Residents Raise Alarm

A disturbing situation has been reported in Aïn Atiq, near Témara. Two young brothers, aged 8 and 2, apparently of Dutch origin, are living in near-abandonment conditions, left to fend for themselves.

The elder, who does not speak Darija, wanders around the neighborhood all day, while his younger brother, often left in soiled diapers, is living the same situation, say residents to Alyaoum24.

The residents, witnesses to this precarious situation, have sounded the alarm. "Since the children’s mother rented an apartment in the residence last summer, they have been wandering the streets all day, inside and around the residence, in a deplorable state... Their clothes are worn, they have no food, and we often hear their cries inside the apartment," testifies a neighbor, visibly concerned about the fate of these children.

The lack of schooling for the elder and the lack of care for the younger have prompted the residents to alert the authorities. "The younger one remains for a long time in dirty diapers and does not receive the necessary care," laments a resident. The situation is all the more worrying as the two children are poorly dressed and exposed to the cold currently experienced in the region.

The mystery surrounds the mother of these children. The neighbors know nothing of her past and the reasons that led her to leave the Netherlands to settle in this neighborhood, leaving her children to fend for themselves. The residents hope for a quick intervention by the competent authorities to take care of the two children.
