World Leaders to Attend Notre-Dame Cathedral Reopening in Paris

King Mohammed VI is among the guests invited to the inauguration ceremony of the Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, scheduled for December 7th. This event marks the reopening of the historic building after years of work following the fire that ravaged it in 2019.

The guest list for this ceremony has been carefully prepared by the Élysée Palace and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Alongside the Moroccan sovereign, other prominent figures such as US President-elect Donald Trump and current President Joe Biden will be present. European monarchs, such as King Charles III of the United Kingdom and King Felipe VI of Spain, as well as Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, are also on the list.

"The list of invited personalities has been carefully prepared by the Élysée Palace and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs," a source close to the matter told Europe 1.

The event will also bring together prominent religious representatives, such as the Archbishop of New York, Timothy Michael Dolan, and the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I of Constantinople.

To ensure the smooth running of the ceremony, the French authorities have planned for enhanced security. "We will not take any risks," said an official interviewed by the same source.

This celebration holds a particular significance for France, but also for other nations. The fire that destroyed part of Notre-Dame in April 2019 had sparked a strong emotion around the world. King Mohammed VI had also contributed financially to support the restoration efforts, a gesture that was welcomed by France.
