World Cup ticket scandal: Morocco-Brazil match under investigation

Prosecutors Letitia James and Jennifer Davenport have officially summoned football’s governing body to explain its sales methods, suspected of deception. The investigation focuses on eight matches scheduled in New Jersey, including the final on July 19 and the Group C clash between Morocco and Brazil.

This matchup crystallizes tensions among many supporters. Already penalized by soaring hotel prices for certain matches, these fans denounce the excesses of the official resale market. Last month, tickets to see the Brazilians in Miami were selling for nearly 50,000 euros on it. According to the accusations, variable pricing would have increased the bill by 34% on average across the vast majority of matches.

Facing criticism, president Gianni Infantino justifies these prices by the public’s "absolutely crazy" appetite.
