Wind Storm Leaves Moroccan Villages Without Power and Water for Days

Several villages in the province of Chefchaouen have been in the dark and without water since Friday, when gusts of wind hit the region, damaging power lines and poles.
This wind storm that hit the region on Friday caused a power and water outage, forcing the inhabitants of the area to turn to gas or fuels to produce energy in order to charge their phones or keep food in the refrigerators.
It has already been three days that these populations have been living in the dark and without drinking water. They have also expressed their discontent at the slowness noted in the repair of the damaged transformers and electrical poles, denouncing the false promises of the National Office of Electricity and Water (ONEE) which is slow to restore these services, reports the site Rue20.
For its part, ONEE assures that the reconnection work is underway to restore electricity in the region, indicating that the city of Jebha and the village of Stehat are already reconnected to the grid.
