Wilders AI image Morocco Netherlands World Cup controversy
Ahead of the highly anticipated match between the Netherlands and Morocco, Dutch political leader Geert Wilders shared an AI-generated image on Friday directly targeting Moroccans.
The Dutch finished the group stage at the top of Group F, dominating a weak Tunisian side 3-1 in the night of Thursday to Friday. They will face a Moroccan team in the next round, composed of many regulars from the Dutch championship. This upcoming opposition quickly prompted a reaction from the PVV party leader on social network X. Friday morning, he posted a montage showing himself dressed as a referee, handing a red card to an opposing player, with only the phrase: "All will be well".

This is not the first intervention by the politician concerning Morocco’s team during this World Cup. During the match against Brazil, he had already drawn attention by publishing an image of several international players praying collectively on the pitch following a goal. A photograph he had accompanied with an insult: "F*ck Allah".
