WhatsApp Business Messages in Morocco Jump to $23 per 1,000
Sending notifications and verification codes to Moroccan customers will cost more starting this Thursday. The new pricing published by Alibaba Cloud sets a 475% increase for these business messages.
These rates apply to businesses using WhatsApp Business Platform to communicate with their customers. Billing is determined by the recipient’s country, so a foreign company sending messages to Morocco is also affected.
Under Alibaba Cloud’s pricing, utility and authentication messages rise from $0.004 to $0.023 each. That brings the cost of 1,000 messages to $23, up from $4.
This category includes order confirmations and delivery information, among other messages. Authentication messages are used to send verification codes.
Advertising campaigns also get more expensive
Marketing messages, used to send promotions or follow up with customers, rise from $0.0225 to $0.0414 each, an increase of 84%.
Alibaba Cloud also announced a quota of 1,000 free service replies per business number per month. Beyond that, its rate for Moroccan recipients reaches $0.0253 per message, plus platform fees.

For a business sending 10,000 notifications billed at the published utility rate, the cost rises from $40 to $230. That is an additional $190 for the same volume.
