Western Sahara Officials Claim Morocco Failed to Contain COVID-19 Spread

After the recording of the first coronavirus cases, the Polisario is trying to hold Morocco responsible for this spread of the virus.
In an interview given to the Italian newspaper Il Manifesto and published on Wednesday, July 29, "the Minister of Public Health of the SADR", Jira Bulahi Bad, openly accuses the Moroccan authorities of having spread Covid-19.
"The pandemic has hit Morocco hard, but in the occupied territories of Western Sahara, the Moroccan authorities have not taken measures to limit its spread, letting the virus attack our defenseless people," denounced the official, specifying that "many potentially infected Moroccans have been able to enter the territory, via boats or trucks carrying fruits and vegetables, without any health checks."
Jira Bulahi Bad recalls that the first four positive cases as well as two deaths related to the coronavirus were recorded last week in the Sahrawi refugee camps which, she points out, lack the means to effectively cope with this pandemic.
