Vox Party Pushes for NATO Protection of Ceuta and Melilla Amid Morocco Tensions

Vox continues to demand the entry of Ceuta and Melilla into NATO, as it does not trust Morocco, despite the restoration of diplomatic relations with Spain and the resumption of cooperation between the two countries.
The far-right party remains wary of Morocco, which is why it insists on demanding the inclusion of Ceuta and Melilla in NATO. Last March, Vox questioned the Spanish Executive to find out if all NATO member countries have been informed of the territorial integrity violation that Spain is constantly suffering from the influx of migrants in the autonomous cities, reports Ceuta Al Dia.
For the Vox deputy from Ceuta, Teresa López, Morocco uses illegal immigration to "put pressure on Spain to act in favor of its interests". The MP considers that the Moroccan threat is constant, and recalled that it is up to the Spanish government, as a member of NATO, to consult the allied nations "when the territorial integrity, political independence or security of one of the parties is threatened".
By not informing NATO of the situation suffered by the two cities, Spain not only condones these migrant invasions, but also encourages them, supports the far-right party which asked the Executive the reasons why it did not inform NATO of the situation. In response, the government indicated that an amendment to the NATO treaty "is not on the agenda".
"With this concise but clear response from the government, there is no longer any doubt that Pedro Sanchez does not want to include Ceuta and Melilla in NATO," concluded the Vox party, stating that this government response is further proof of its "submission" to Morocco.
