Violent Clash at Dijon Station: Officer Injured, 5 Arrested in Ticket Check Altercation

Five young foreigners, including a Moroccan, violently resisted the police during a check at the Dijon train station. Result: an officer seriously injured in the hand. The police still managed to arrest them.
The events took place on Monday, March 22. A check carried out at the Dijon train station resulted in an injured police officer and five arrests, report Actu17 and Le Bien Public. The intervention took place after SNCF inspectors noticed the presence of people without tickets and aggressive, and called the police.
On their arrival, the situation deteriorated. The police arrested five people. In the process, one of the officers was seriously injured in the hand. An injury for which a doctor gave him 21 days of Total Temporary Incapacity.
The five arrested people are in an irregular situation. Among them, a 15-year-old minor, whose nationality remains to be specified, and a 17-year-old Algerian teenager. Both were summoned before a juvenile judge, notably for theft. As for the three other defendants aged 23 or 24, two of them are Algerian. The third is originally from Morocco. They were referred to the public prosecutor’s office.
