Unusual February Heat Wave Grips Morocco as Temperatures Soar to 37°C

Morocco has experienced a significant rise in temperatures in recent days, reaching unusual levels for mid-February.
Several regions of the country recorded temperatures between 34 and 37 degrees Celsius, including the Atlantic plains, Doukkala, Abda, Al Haouz, Rahamna, Souss-Massa and the southern provinces. Cities like Casablanca, El Jadida, Marrakech and Agadir were particularly affected by this heat wave.
According to the General Directorate of Meteorology, this situation is due to the arrival of hot and dry air masses from the Sahara, transported by southeasterly winds. The temperature even reached 35 degrees in some regions, exceeding the average monthly maximum for February.
Fortunately, the heat wave should subside from this Thursday. Rainfall is expected in several regions, including Tangier, Loukkos, the northwest and the Rif regions.
