Undocumented Moroccan Teen Dies in Spanish Port City of Ceuta

Originally from Chefchaouen, an undocumented Moroccan minor died at the university hospital in Ceuta, shortly after being found unconscious in the port of the city, reports the Spanish press.
The 16 or 17-year-old adolescent, Mohamed M., from Chefchaouen, was at the time accompanied by three other young boys, before the police spotted him and called for help. Accustomed to going to the port of Ceuta to attempt the crossing, he was sporadically residing in a center for minors in Ceuta, "La Esperanza".
The cause of the teenager’s death has not yet been revealed. However, sources close to the Spanish media report that the deceased was epileptic and his epileptic seizures had become "almost daily". The three friends of the Moroccan minor thought it was another seizure and that the young man would return from the hospital safe and sound as usual, before learning of their comrade’s death through the press.
An investigation has been opened by the police and the results of his autopsy carried out on Monday will determine the exact causes of his death. An appeal is also being made to find the members of Mohamed’s family, with a view to repatriating him to Morocco.
