• Moroccan bank branches on the way to disappearing

  Bank Al-Maghrib announced the decrease in the total number of bank branches on the territory of the kingdom, from 5,914 in 2022 to 5,811 in 2023.
  This decline is due to the closure of 145 branches and the opening of 42 new ones in 2023, explained the central bank in a note. In detail, the Société Générale Marocaine des Banques closed 49 branches.
