"In addition to the presence of three French military bases on Emirati territory, this mutual trust (between France and the Emirates) is reflected in the acquisition of 80 Rafale aircraft, 12 Caracal helicopters, and associated elements. This is a major outcome of the strategic partnership between the two countries," adds the French presidency.
This order aims to replace the sixty Mirage 2000-9s acquired in 1998 by the Emirates, part of which will be transferred to Morocco and the other to Egypt.
