UAE Military Flights to Morocco Spark Speculation Amid Regional Tensions

The United Arab Emirates Air Force has recently operated flights between its bases in the emirates and those in Morocco. This military air bridge is subject to interpretation.
The Twitter account Gerjon, which monitors air traffic in several regions of the world, revealed that at least 17 military flights, mainly C-17s and A330-MRTTs from the United Arab Emirates Air Force, have made round trips between their bases in the emirates and Moroccan bases between December 1 and early January 2022 without overflying Algerian airspace, reports Menadefense.net.
Three of these flights were operated for aeronautical maintenance reasons, Gerjon said. But the reasons for the other 14 flights remain undetermined. These flights would be related to the delivery of Emirati Wing-Loong drones, offered to Morocco - a drone was photographed in flight near a Moroccan base in the Sahara in December -, the delivery of other military equipment offered by the Emiratis or even the hunting trips of Emirati VIPs for the end-of-year holidays.
