“Two months felt like two years”: She leaves Sebta and tells others not to come
Having arrived from Morocco during the mass crossings in July, a young woman has just voluntarily left Sebta. She says she did not want to leave, but now advises those considering making the same crossing to give up the idea.
The young woman filmed her departure in front of the border post. “I’m leaving. I’m waiting in front of customs,” she explains through tears in a video shared by El Faro de Ceuta.

She entered Sebta from Morocco during the mass crossings on 30 and 31 July. After two months in the city, she says leaving was not her first choice. “I didn’t want to leave Sebta, I swear before Allah,” she confides.
The young woman describes her stay as a succession of joys and difficult moments. She says she laughed, cried and experienced very different situations there.

Her time in Sebta seemed especially endless. “I spent two months that felt like two years,” she says, before accepting that her plan had not worked out as she had hoped.
Her return echoes that of others who entered Sebta in July before seeking to return to Morocco. She does not specify the conditions in which she lived during those two months or the exact reason that ultimately prompted her to leave.

Before crossing the border, she issues a warning to those considering leaving: “Sebta has nothing. If anyone is thinking of entering, they’d be better off not doing so. Spain is worth it, but not Sebta.”
