Turkish stone exporters target $100 million in Morocco as 2030 World Cup projects loom
Thirteen Turkish companies traveled to Casablanca to meet 75 Moroccan buyers. Their goal: to capitalize on investment in stadiums, hotels and infrastructure to sell more marble and natural stone. The sector is now targeting $100 million in exports to the Kingdom.

The 2030 World Cup is opening up new prospects for Turkish manufacturers. From October 13 to 16, a delegation specializing in natural stone explored the Moroccan market. Coordinated by the Aegean Exporters’ Association, 16 representatives from 13 companies took part in business meetings with 75 Moroccan companies, according to a report published by Ege’de Sonsöz.
The mission was not limited to business meetings. The exporters visited two local companies, Sinastone and J.M.M. Marbre et Granit, to explore potential opportunities. Marble, granite and other stones for flooring and interior design are their main areas of focus.
The financial stakes are considerable for Turkish suppliers. In 2025, Morocco imported $204 million worth of natural stone, including $43.5 million from Turkey. Turkish products thus accounted for 21.3% of the market. Ibrahim Alimoğlu, president of the Aegean Mineral Exporters’ Association, is now aiming to increase sales to $100 million.
The 2030 World Cup, a coveted market
Turkish industry professionals are betting on demand generated by preparations for the tournament. In its official call to companies, the federation lists stadiums, hotels, tourist facilities and modern infrastructure as potential markets for its materials.

Another Turkish delegation, focused on steel and construction materials, also explored Casablanca in October. Ten companies held more than 120 business meetings with 72 Moroccan companies. Turkish suppliers are thus seeking to position themselves across several product categories needed for major real estate and infrastructure projects.
