Turkish Furniture Firms Seek to Expand Market Share in Morocco

Around forty Turkish furniture entrepreneurs are carrying out a trade mission in Morocco from October 7 to 11. The objective is to strengthen their partnerships with their Moroccan counterparts and increase their market share in the kingdom.
A total of 36 business leaders representing 22 Turkish furniture companies are participating in this mission to Morocco. Their goal is to increase their market share in Morocco from 15% to 25% and try to dethrone China, the leading exporter of furniture to the kingdom. According to the president of the Association of Exporters of Furniture, Paper and Forest Products of the Aegean Sea, Ali Fuat Gürle, the share of Turkish furniture imported into Morocco has increased by more than 100% in five years, from $52 million in 2019 to $105 million in 2024.
The share of Turkish furniture imports in Morocco is 15% and represents an annual value of $700 million, recalled Ali Fuat Gürle, stressing that this mission organized for Turkish entrepreneurs aims to highlight the quality of their furniture and their competitive prices. The opening of stores in the major cities of the kingdom should help strengthen the presence of Turkish entrepreneurs in the furniture sector.
Hikmet Güngör, vice-president of the Aegean Exporters’ Association, said that Turkey is seeking to conquer new markets and establish itself as a key player in the global furniture sector. He recalled that in May, a delegation of Turkish entrepreneurs was in Saudi Arabia and another should go to India in November. The mission to Morocco will allow Turkish entrepreneurs to strengthen trade ties between the two countries and establish new partnerships in sectors such as textiles and automotive, he added.
