TUI launches new flights to Morocco
TUI will open a route between London-Gatwick and Tangier in summer 2027. The group will also increase its capacity to Marrakech and Agadir from Belgium, while Fès and Essaouira are among the new routes under consideration.
Morocco is among the beneficiaries of the flight program presented by TUI on Thursday, September 24. The group plans 17 million seats and 84,000 flights during summer 2027, representing a 4.6% increase in capacity compared with 2026.
The program unveiled by TUI includes 25 new routes, 11 of them new destinations in its network, and approximately 640,000 additional seats. Nearly one-third of the program has been revamped in order to allocate more aircraft to the markets where demand is strongest.
At London-Gatwick, TUI will add eight routes and expand its network to 59 destinations. Tangier is among the new destinations, along with Athens, Palermo, Santiago de Compostela, Seville, Valencia, Djerba and Mytilène.
The frequency of the London-Tangier route has not yet been indicated. TUI states that most of its new routes will operate two to three times a week and will target, in particular, travelers purchasing only a flight ticket.
Fès and Essaouira still at the opportunity stage
The Belgian program provides for more flights to several destinations already served. In Morocco, Marrakech and Agadir will benefit from additional capacity.
TUI also lists Fès and Essaouira among the “new route opportunities” from Belgium. Their definitive launch, departure airports and frequencies have not yet been announced.
This expansion comes one month after TUI CEO Sebastian Ebel threatened to reduce the number of aircraft based in Belgium because of aviation taxes. The group ultimately chose to increase the volume of its Belgian program by reallocating its capacity to the most in-demand destinations.

Agadir is also benefiting from redeployments carried out in other European markets. TUI ranks the city among the destinations that will record significant growth from Germany during summer 2027.
