Trial Delayed in Brutal Rape and Murder Case of Moroccan Woman

The examination of the "Hanane" case, named after the young woman who was raped, wounded in her dignity and then killed by rape, was postponed to December 2. The Criminal Chamber of the Court of Appeal of Rabat decided this way on Monday because out of the 10 accused, the 2 accused on provisional release did not appear in court.
On June 8, 2019, those who have instant messaging applications discovered with horror a video in which Hanane, a 34-year-old woman, was raped, tortured and then murdered in unbearable violence.
According to 2M.ma, in the video that was circulated, the young Hanane was powerless in the face of her tormentor who subjected her to the worst atrocities. She will succumb after having lived moments of intense pain and humiliation.
The tragedy, according to the channel, occurred in Hay El Mellah, in Rabat, and its violence aroused the indignation and anger of the associations which gathered in front of the Parliament to denounce this odious and inhuman crime.
They will be somewhat comforted by the arrest and indictment of the eight accused, including the main suspect. The latter is accused of voluntary homicide, kidnapping accompanied by torture and serious indecent assault.
For the other defendants, the charges vary between non-denunciation of a crime, recording and dissemination of a photo of the victim for the purpose of defamation, and failure to assist a person in danger.
