The Bobigny (Seine-Saint-Denis) Criminal Court will look into the case of Kamel Benstaali and Omar Azzouz, two employees who died in 2019 after a terrible fall on a renovation site in Épinay, starting Monday, January 30. Their families are seeking the truth.
The families of Kamel Benstaali and Omar Azzouz, aged 29 and 34 at the time of the events, are seeking to know the truth about what happened on June 8, 2019 on a renovation site in Épinay. "Faults were committed," says Laid, Kamel Benstaali’s brother-in-law. "We need to know which ones and that it doesn’t happen again elsewhere." That day, while they were working on the exterior insulation of building 2, facing north, the two men died following the collapse of a kind of platform, an elevating work platform, guided on two masts, ten stories high, on which they were standing, reports Le Parisien. A third man was lucky. He survived. On the orders of the public prosecutor’s office, the brigade for the repression of delinquency against persons (BRDP) of the judicial police conducted an investigation which revealed that Kamel and Omar were undocumented and working illegally, as their employer declared them on June 10. So, a post-mortem
