New DNA Evidence Reignites Omar Raddad Murder Case in France 2 Series

The new series "Omar Raddad, the last fight" named after the former Moroccan gardener convicted and then pardoned in 1996, without being declared innocent for the murder of his employer Ghislaine Marchal, killed on June 23, 1991 in Mougins (Alpes-Maritimes), will be broadcast on Sunday on France 2.

France 2 viewers will be able to watch an excerpt from the series "Omar Raddad" in "13h15 le dimanche" on February 26, 2023. This excerpt focuses on part of the life of the former Moroccan gardener, which boils down to his determination to prove his innocence. Since the death of his lawyer Jacques Vergès in 2013, it is Sylvie Noachovitch who is handling his defense. She has requested an expert assessment of the doors on which the inscriptions "Omar m’a tuer" and "Omar m’a t" are written.

"On the boiler room door, we have genetic fingerprints that are really localized: unknown genetic fingerprint 3 and unknown genetic fingerprint 4, on the bottom of the door," explains Laurent Breniaux, a genetics expert. And to question: "On this handprint that is placed, couldn’t we, for example, have pressed our fingers as if we were holding Mrs. Marchal’s hand and pressed our fingers at the same time, leaving the DNA next to it?" This could suggest that someone else wrote with Ghislaine Marchal’s blood, according to the defense.

"At no time, whether on the cellar door or the boiler room door, was Omar Raddad’s genetic fingerprint characterized," it is specified. The former Moroccan gardener is waiting to be declared innocent and rehabilitated.
