EU Travel Restrictions Exempt Moroccan Residents and Students Despite Covid Surge

Morocco has been removed from the list of countries exempt from travel restrictions in the European area, due to the resurgence of Covid-19 cases. However, this decision does not concern European Union citizens and their families, long-term residents and students.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rabat hosted a meeting with the various diplomatic representatives of European countries, including France, Spain, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and Portugal.
At the end of this meeting, the ambassadors of the countries concerned affirmed that Moroccans residing in Europe and students pursuing their studies in European institutions, or newly enrolled, are not affected by these new restrictions.
The exemption is also planned for travelers with an essential function or needs, such as medical personnel.
